MT Trek

In a remarkably short time, the CFMOTO MT range has reshaped Australia’s adventure‑touring landscape.

From weekend escapes to long haul exploration, MT and MT‑X models have proven themselves as tough, capable, and brilliantly equipped motorcycles, delivering genuine performance without the premium price tag. Built to handle the harsh realities of Australian adv riding, the MT and MT-X range has earned its reputation the hard way, kilometre by kilometre.

With the outstanding success of the MT and MT-X range, it was only natural to create events that reflect the culture emerging around these incredible machines and the riders who proudly own them.

And so, CFMOTO MT Trek was born: a new series of annual touring events built exclusively for MT and MT‑X riders, created to explore more of Australia, ride great routes, and connect with a community that’s grown faster than anyone expected.

What is MT Trek?

MT Trek is about more than just covering kilometres.

It’s about shared experiences, unforgettable routes, and discovering what your MT and MT-X was built for, alongside like minded riders.

Our aim is simple: to create well organised, friendly, and inclusive events that suits the broad MT and MT-X community – riders of different ages, abilities, and experience levels – without losing the sense of adventure.

Our main route will utilise gazetted roads that are maintained to some degree, while more experienced riders will have the option to explore some of the other tracks and trails along the way that will provide more of a challenge.

We understand our community is made up of riders of vastly different levels of experience, and the Trek will have something for everyone.

The CFMOTO crew will be with you along the way providing technical support where necessary, and dealing with your luggage and any other organisational matters.

All you need to do is come and enjoy the rode, and the company of your fellow CFMoto community.

All MT Trek events are open
to owners of CFMOTO MT and MT‑X models of all capacities.

What is included?

MT Trek is a fully supported, multiday touring experience, designed so you can focus on riding and enjoying the journey.

This is your chance to be part of the inaugural MT Trek, and have priority access to the next event as well, so if you’re planning too make this an annual event on your calendar, don’t miss the first Trek!

Each year, MT Trek events will travel to a different part of Australia, giving owners the opportunity to experience regions they may never have explored from the seat of a motorcycle.

Your MT Trek experience includes:

November 8-12, 2026

Eildon (Vic) to Canberra

It’s time to get dirty, and the inaugural MT Trek is going to tackle some of Australia’s iconic dirt roads, and discover some breathtaking scenery from the high country to the coast, and back again.

Starting from our beautiful first night resort stay at Eildon, we’ll climb Victoria’s High Country and descend to the coast for an evening of shared food, drinks, and stories. Then we’ll be climbing back into the NSW Snowies, riding along the iconic Snowy River, then once again descending the escarpment to the ocean for night 3 by the water. From there we will be climbing once again, into the mountains to blast through the magestic Brindabellas outside of Canberra.

Riders will arrive in Eildon on Sunday, check into their accommodation, and attend the Welcome Dinner at our private resort. This evening is your chance to meet fellow riders, the MT Trek crew, and get a full briefing on how the next few days will unfold.

Over the next three days, we’ll hit the road for a carefully curated journey featuring:

Outstanding high country dirt roads

Stunning scenery

Relaxed, achievable daily distances

Plenty of opportunities to stop, explore, and enjoy the ride

Our final night will be spent in the nation’s capital, where we’ll come together for the Farewell Dinner – sharing stories from the road, celebrating the journey, and saying goodbye to new friends… until the next MT Trek.

A full information pack will be supplied to riders when they book.

We’ve chosen to begin the event on a Sunday evening so riders can have a full weekend to arrive at the starting point at Eildon, and with the event finishing on Thursday morning, most people should be able to participate with no more than a week required off work, depending on where in Australia you’re coming from.

Accommodation

Accommodation on this Trek is included for all four nights on either a twin-share or single basis. If you’re travelling with a friend, you will have the opportunity to share with them, otherwise we will pair you up with a like-minded fellow Trekker. If you’d like your own room, we have a limited number of single spots available (see below).

Your Questions, Answered

  • The event is open ONLY to owners of any MT or MT-X model of bike, of any capacity.

  • You will spend approximately 70% of your time each day on dirt roads, so we strongly advise you to run a dirt-biased adventure tyre on your bike. Ideally a 70/30 dirt-biased tyre would be ideal, such as a MotoZ Tractionator or RallZ, Hidenau K60 Ranger, Michelin Anakee Wild, or similar.

  • The MT Trek is not a suitable event for pillions.

  • We will provide a luggage service to ship your luggage from your departure hotel to the next night’s hotel for you. Riders may carry a small tank bag or small soft bag on their rear rack each day for spares, tyre repair kit, or wet weather gear, but other luggage must be placed in the truck each morning. No hard luggage can be placed in the truck as we cannot guanatee it will not get scratched. Riders should bring either soft panniers to put in the support truck, or a waterproof roll bag, which are available cheaply and can be strapped to the rear rack of your bike. More info will be provided once you have booked your trip.

  • Dinner is provided on night 1 and night 4, and some breakfasts may be included depending on your hotel. More details will be provided closer to the Trek.

  • We recommend you have comprehensive insurance for your motorcycle, but it is not compulsory. It makes life much easier of you have an accident a long way from home. You should have third party property damage insurance at a minimum, and obviously any third party personal injury insurance you require for your bike registration in your state.

  • We highly recommend everyone has a roadside assistance membership with an organisation such as RACV, RACQ, NRMA, or similar.

  • SatNav systems or smartphone navigation Apps are optional. For those who have one and wish to use it, we will provide GPX files in the days before the event. But you will be able to be part of the event without a navigation system with no issues.

  • Yes. It’s something all motorcyclists should have anyway. Ambulance cover will cover any ambulance bills you may incur, which can run into the tens of thousands of dollars if you need a long trip or a helicopter ride. If you have private health insurance, you will generally already have ambulance cover included in that. If not, you can get ambulance cover from any of the health insurance providers for as little as $30. It’s a great investment.

  • Our routes are a tightly held secret. GPS files will be made available a few days before the event to allow you to upload them to your device. If you do not want to use GPS navigation, that’s fine. We will provide route maps and directions each night, or you can choose to ride with the main group where we will use a “corner man” system so nobody gets lost.

  • The Trek will provide riders with route options, depending on their level of experience. The “main” route will be targeting maintained dirt roads, and experienced riders will be able to plan their ride to include some more challenging alternative routes in some cases. There will also be options to make the ride easier for riders who do not wish to tackle the more challenging dirt sections, or in case we have poor weather.

  • No problem. Just book the Trecker Pack option and we will endeavour to match you up with another rider. It’s a great way to make new friends.
